Frequently Asked Questions

How can we fight poverty, exploitation and oppression through creative communications ?

Every day we are affected by images and words - on the TV and radio, in newspapers and magazines and through the Internet. Multi-media communication is a powerful way to inform, and it is one of the most effective and efficient ways to cause change.

When we watch commercials or view advertisements, we may not be aware of their influence, but they cause us to change our buying habits and reconsider our image of companies, organizations and even ourselves.

Paintings, music, literature and dance have the same impact. Throughout history, art has been both a mirror and a catalyst - reflecting and shaping the artist that creates it, as well as the society that views it.

Catalyst Studios uses artistic talent and communication expertise to transform apathy into action and cause positive changes. Through our projects, Catalyst encourages people to see the world around them and to recognize and pursue avenues of involvement. We are committed to revealing truth, not to invoke sentimentality, but to show people the urgency of their understanding and assistance.

2. Why do we ask for donations?

The success of our mission depends on the donors that equip us to create and distribute projects that communicate critical world realities. The involvement of our sponsors and supporters enables us to enlarge our awareness efforts and stir a greater response.

We invest in what we value. Catalyst invites people who value creativity and compassion to join us in our vision of inspiring a more empathetic and just world. Through the arts, we can awaken people’s understanding and involvement, stir policy-makers to lobby for change, rally workers with much-needed skills (attorneys, surgeons, investigators, therapists, engineers, etc.) to intervene with their time and energy and compel those with appropriate resources to provide aid where it is needed most.
